JAWS Discussion Boards Guidelines/Rules

Why are we here?
Everyone that visits and participates on these Boards has a common interest; the movie JAWS. While some conversations will revolve around that great film (and it's non-great sequels), many won't. That's O.K., and greatly encouraged. Feel free to discuss anything you want!
How should I act?
This place is meant to be a public forum where everyone is encouraged to post. Many people have been coming here for years and a few have even ended up in the Board Hall of Fame.

New people should be made to feel welcome and not harrassed just because they are new. Many boards out there usually degenerate into constant flaming and arguing. It's not supposed to be that way here.
How do I become a member instead of a junior member, or get more Bruce icons under my posting name?
Once you get over 100 posts, you are promoted from a junior member to a member. You get one Bruce at that level. You get your next Bruce at 500 posts, and the next one at 1000. Do not post messages that contain nothing useful just to get more Bruce icons and/or increase your number of posts!
How can I post links, make text bold or italic, post a quote, or post those little smilie symbols?
To post links, click the http:// button and put the URL in between the [a] and [/a] tags.

To make text bold or italic, click the B (bold) button or the I (italic) button and put the text in between the [b] and [/b] or [i] and [/i] tags.

To post a quote, click the Quote button and put the text in between the [quote] and [/quote] tags.

To post smilies, just click the image of the smilie you wish to post, and the resulting tag will be replaced with the smilie image.
How can I post an image?
First of all, your image must be hosted somewhere on the internet (such as your own site), and be able to be pulled from that site to be shown. Free sites such as Geocities don't allow image pulls.

To post your image on the boards, click the IMG button and put the URL to your image in between the [img] and [/img] tags.
How can I post an image in my signature?
Again, your image must be hosted somewhere on the internet (such as your own site), and be able to be pulled from that site to be shown. Please don't post more than one image in your signature. Images posted in signature files should not be wider than 100 pixels, and don't use animated gifs!

To post your image in your signature, your have to use HTML code similar to the following:

<img src="http://www.test.com/yourimage.gif" height="100" width="100">

Replace the http://www.test.com/yourimage.gif with the URL to your image, and replace the height and width values with those of your image.
How can I report a violation or a Board error?
First of all, it's usually best to ignore troublemakers. If nobody responds to the messages they post, they will usually get bored and go away. The offending messages will usually be deleted pretty quickly by the Board moderators, and troublemakers will sometimes be banned from posting on the Boards.

If something gets really out of hand, contact me and it will be resolved.
