That's why they call it a rumor. Besides, Spielberg would have to say something about this first considering no Spielberg movie has ever been remade and 3D does nothing to add to a story. Jaws 3D tried and it added nothing.

Why is the question WHY!!! "Makes sense now" my ass especially a "more comedic direction". I really really hope this is only a rumor BLEK

I'm with you on this one Monk, Tracy Morgan as Hooper?? I'd probably boycott the film. No one can take him seriously in a role now, it would...well it would just suck!!

I'm so glad tis but a rumor (I hope zoinks!)

Id be online the night before to see it. Seriously.

Maybe Im old school, but I think a CGI shark (among other things ::cough:: Tracy Morgan ::cough::) would ruin it .

Gotta go with a mechanical shark.

Tracy Morgan is in this new movie with Bruce Willis coming out this month. Now I have nothing personal against Tracy Morgan, but this Cop Out movie (ironic title) just made me think, "Why on earth is Bruce Willis in this movie?" So Morgan in a Jaws movie makes me think, "Why am I even morbidly curious to see this movie?!!"

They filmed a few scenes of Cop Out a couple blocks away from me last year. I could literally feel Tracy Morgans unfunnyness in the air.

Morgan's greatest contribution to the Arts & Entertainment world was his groundbreaking role as Dominican Lou, the building superintendent at 1901 Burnside Avenue in the Bronx.

    Hello all,

    Interesting replies.

I was wondering what aspects they would keep & what they would lose from the script when it arrives?
Im sure they would merge CGI & mechanical.
Would they film at the vineyard?
Universal must know how important it is getting Spielberg onside as producer.
I thought the rumer surfaced from Kevin Smith s Facebook/Twitter blog.

Welcome to the forum. I think you have to understand, this is probably a bogus rumor. There have been remake rumors for many years, and they never pan out. To me, it almost seems like tongue in cheek humor.

Hola!! Welcome to the floating asylum

Cuda is right, there have been rumors for years, so I'm sure this one won't pan out either, but it's fun to speculate

But what I've noticed, is that there's usually a grain of truth to them. Tho it is't a Jaws remake, or Jaws 5 but after the rumers surface, a shark movie is released fitting the profile of the movie rumored as being a "Jaws" film.

Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if Tracy Morgan is going to star in Sharktopus???

LOL That sounds more credible to me, Cari. Dazzan, Jaws 3D was actually my favorite of the sequels, even though there were parts in it where the shark looked a little..."styrofoamy". It was the biggest and meanest looking of all the Bruces.

I'll bet Kevin Smith's blog/Twitter page is on fire over this one: KEVIN SMITH KICKED OFF PLANE FOR BEING TOO FAT.
